My head is spinning!

Before I start my random thought of how my head has been spinning out of control I wanted to honor my sweet niece Lashae. We got back from her high school graduation this last weekend and had such an amazing time celebrating Lashae and her accomplishment and being with our whole family and friends.
I want to share this funny moment. I was helping Lashae prepare a couple of hours before the graduation ceremony for she was the valedictorian of her class along with her best friend Sydney. Fixing her beautiful mane of hair, and then asking her what she was going to wear. She had NO CLUE! I was appalled, here she was VALEDICTORIAN and had no clue as to what she was going to WEAR???? So, we went thru everything in her closet and NOTHING was coming together. My head was spinning, sweatin‘, and she was laughing without even missing a beat, not shook up in the least bit….I looked at La and said, ” if I was valedictorian the VERY first thing that would run thru my brain would be WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?” She said and she looked me very close into my eyes and said so matter of factly, “and that is why you were not the valedictorian!” That cracked me up and she is right. She left the house 2 minutes before she had to leave we came up with the perfect outfit, she looked so adorable, I was happy, and she was out the door….one more thing, her speech completely shined of who she is in Him. So proud, so proud…..
Now about my spinning head…….

This moment in time each year leaves my head spinning and feeling out of control. I have to really focus on what is important and give up the rest. BALANCE, always balance. The kids are out of school in a couple of day, can’t wait for that! It also leaves me with, I want to take each moment with them and make it count! I want to ride horses with them,(feeling a bit more freedom and usually at this stage in my life I get pregnant :), ride bikes, ride dirt bikes, camp, swim (hopefully on those 100 degree days), read books (the list on this one is sooooo long), vbs, church camp , preparing for the following year in their schooling (homeschooling again this following year),along with the dailies of life(mowing yards, painting, cleaning porches barn, putting up a fence, etc, etc…) and in ALL of this keep the Lord above all of these things in a way that He is glorified! So, the focus is keeping my eyes on Him by reading the Word, praying, worshipping, and all these things will fall right into place. I am in anticipation for what He has layed out for us this summer. So, happy summer and ENJOY!

Jenay - OMG…I was literally laughing out loud when I was reading about that moment with Lashae…I was even there and laughed at the time, but remembering it, makes it just as funny the second time.

I love what you had to say about what is spinning around in that head of your. Awesome thoughts…kinda ironic…we must have been posting at the same time, and we are having similar thoughts without even talking about it. Love it when that happens!

bigfatmama - I feel the same way – summer is so short and there’s so much you want to get in and enjoy. As we enjoy these precious moments with our children we can worship God at the same time by keeping an ever present attitude of gratefulness for His blessings and grace!

Your niece’s comment made me laugh. Smart and witty! 🙂
