Ok, so I am so excited to share this recipe. My Big Fat Mama friend at www.cookingupfaith.com (and just a little side note, My Big Fat Mama friend is not over weight, she cleared that up with us a few posts back as well) mentioned her way of making cookies. I thought I would challenge her to a new way to make cookies. (smile) I have made chocolate chip cookies, trying all kinds of different ways to go about it, it is a lot of times hit and miss. Sometimes it’s just the change in humidity in the air that effects how they come out today compared to tomorrow. I’ve added a little of this and that to this or that recipe, but this recipe that actually came from my friend Leanne,(who is the most amazing cook), it seems they always come out just right. I am not sure the ‘real’ name of them but I call them….
Never Fail Chocolate chip Cookies
1 cup butter
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp milk
11/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips (dark chocolate is the best to me! 😉 )
Melt butter. Add sugar. Cream with mixer on medium speed. Add egg, egg yolk, milk, vanilla, mix until well combined. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly add to butter mixture until thoroughly combined. Do not over mix. Stir in chocolate chips.
Chill dough for at least 2 hours (dough should be hard) Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop dough onto sheets 6-8 per sheet only (too many on the sheet for this recipe and the heat won’t circulate well enough around them to bake evenly, I tried)
Bake 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes then remove on wire rack. Store in air tight container.
BFM, I think you’ll love these. Might be a little more time consuming but wait until you dig in with those teeth! Yum, Yum!
