the things they say….

A couple of days ago I was headed to the grocery store, gave the kids chores to do to keep them occupied while I was gone. I went down to the barn to say good bye and Jordan was having a hard time. He works so hard at keeping up with the big boys ALL of the time and he was just not having it, and having a MOMENT! I told his little cranky self to get into the van and he could go with me.
As we were leaving I told him I missed having our one on one. It had been awhile beings summer is here and the boys are home. I asked him if there was anything in particular that he wanted to talk about. His response? “I want to pray.” I said, “oh good what do you want to talk to Jesus about?” He said, “about being nicer.” OH MY GOSH, I AM ON THIS ONE DON’T YOU KNOW!!!! (and it wasn’t particularly about HIM being nice either.~ha!) I said, “perfect, you go first!”
He starts out like this each time, “Please Jesus, Oh please Jesus, make me be nicer.I need to be nice. Amen!” My turn, “Lord, I am in total agreement with Jordan, thank you Lord! Amen!
I think it worked, we had a great time together and neither one of us seemed grumpy after that. He does care about the littlest of things doesn’t He?

Big Fat Mama - What a sweet moment! How blessed you are to have that moment with your son. I went to church tonight and there was one boy, probably in his early 20s leading singing. He was up there alone and sang “Jesus Loves Me, this I know…for the Bible tells me so.” It was so innocent and sweet and it just made me think how sensitive boys can be.

Thank you for sharing your story!

Jenay - THIS CRACKS ME UP!!!!! I MEAN CRACKS ME UP!!! The funniest part is I think the Holy Spirit was giving you an attitude adjustment so gently through your precious little boy, who does NOT have the filters that we get as adults…he’s just calling it like he sees it. LOVE IT!!! Give jordan a big hug from Auntie Nay…and way to bring it all before the Lord….good job Jor!!!!

Gina - Ahhhh. Bless his heart. He is just a sweet little thing. Poor Jordan does work so hard at keeping up with those bigger boys, and he does pretty darn good most the time. That kid is going to do well!!

Kristin - So sweet! Sounds like he has a tender heart.

I wanted to thank you for your sweet comment about my blog! I am following you too. I could stand to learn a few things about boys! I have 5 girls and 1 boy. He doesn’t seem to mind being so out numbered…yet.

Blessings to you and yours!
