Seasons that we go thru, it always brings change,I think changes us in a way too. It makes us more understanding more compassionate, sometimes hardens us if we don’t watch it. We always have to be aware of how the circumstances around us are affecting our heart and relationship with our Lord. He is the one we are seeking approval from. “If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galations 1:10 What does one have to do with another? Approval and servanthood are connected because we become immediate slaves to the person from whom we seek approval. There is really only ONE who can look out for our best interest. So, as I thought about this it makes for a much better attitude with the tasks we do in life or the changes that come our way when I know I’m out to please my Father and that is all the approval I need.
So, this season has brought many changes. The Lord has been in all of it, had His hand all over it, for that I am grateful.
This past week, what a whirlwind! We started off with snow and apparently when there is snow in this house that means no schooling it is automatic VACATION TIME! It was out in the snow, get soaked, come back in to have Momma dry the clothes, to back out to get soaked again, to back in to get dry clothes on…..over and over and over again! My dryer got a work out! Jordan, poor baby, he wanted to play in it sooooo bad but every time came in after taking 10 minutes to get ready to go out, back in 10 minutes later crying and upset. Can’t walk in the stuff, get cold, wet, hungry, and tired all in about 10 minutes!
I also got to go with Amanda dress shopping! Yes, yes, yes!!! The girl? She has a bod on her so EVERYTHING looked AMAZING it was more of a matter of taste not what looked good. She asked me to be a brides maid. Isn’t that sweet? I think I will be the oldest brides maid that ever was, but hey, it’s an honor. Oh, and Layton will be a groomsmen so I told Layton, “well, well, this will work out perfect you can walk with your Momma and not have to worry about walking with any of those GIRLS!” I thought it was hilarious! Him? Not so much!
Then on to Thanksgiving….spent with sisters and their families. That change and seasons thing played a big part. Mom and dad weren’t with us this year.I missed them so much! We did enjoy each other and of course the cousins were loving life! They love to be together. We have so much to be grateful for. I little plug for Sister, she did an AMAZING job at the turkey and dressing, A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.! We invaded their space for several days just hangin’ and had a super time.
I am so grateful to our Lord who we can count on to be the same yesterday, today, and forever, He is steadfast and never changing in all the seasons we face.
