Off to the desert and SUN!

celebrating after Layton completed his race! Gettin’ ready to hit the desert with the boys! Corvan just finished his race! Momma was sneakin’ some lovin’ in after his race, isn’t he cute with that dirt on his nose?

Ready for bed!

I tell you, I seen the light for a few minutes, a special few hours, it was wonderful! I am talking about that round ball in the sky called SUN! It really has been a couple of hard weeks for me. As I am always stating, those rays of light or not make a difference to this girl. Before we left for Eastern Washington my mom called and I actually dropped tears telling her how I couldn’t take the rain anymore I needed a break. This weekend we got a day on Friday, it was chilly but that sun hit me on the face the whole way to our destination I was putting my face to that sun bathing in it, and then on Saturday all bundled up because of the cold but basking in that sun, this is what this girl was doing. On the way home we came back over that mountain and the rain began and I try to hold the whining to a minimum, shoot husband can’t help it, this is where he works so hard for us and I appreciate it so much. I couldn’t take it, I burst into tears and said, “I CAN’T COME BACK TO THIS!!!!” He didn’t say anything (I am sure he thought I was being a little mellow dramatic and I was ‘I suppose’) So, I choose to think about the things I am grateful for to override my feelings on the rain subject. Ok, I am done with this subject, I know, so boring….

The boys had a great time on the desert racing. Jim rode the poker ride with the boys, did alot of miles, he was still kickin’ it in, no doubt about it, but is very sore today, heehee! Layton did the 50 mile race and ended up 4 seconds faster than last year on his time. 8th place out of 121 fifteen year old competitors. Brayden and Corvan rode the ‘mini-race’ and had fun with that too. Me? I did the cookin’, cleanin’ and followin’ them all around and loved every minute of it all!

I am grateful for: 133. those sunny days 134.my competitive boys 135.chili on a cool day 136.a camper 137.being well prepared 138.coat 139.a hot shower 140.knowing I’m needed 141.husband getting tickled at one of the kids 142. a husband who drives well 143.grateful for innocence of a babe 144.laundry

Big Fat Mama! - I feel your pain, Marlece. My mood is definitely affected when it’s rainy and dreary outside. The sun always lifts my mood. Hang in there, girl! It’s normal to want to see the sun shining…and praise God for your special moments spent with your family. The pictures were too cute!

Lady Rose - Marlece,

Well, it’s good to know that I am not the only one who really doesn’t like rain. 🙂 I LOVE the sun too. I actually took a photograph of the sun today, but it looks “funny,” ha! 🙂

Looks like “The Boys” had fun with the race too. 🙂

Casey Martinez - Oh my gosh I would not do well somewhere that had too much rainy weather. I’m sure I have a seasonal mood disorder and sun is my best friend. Do you take a vitamin D supplements to help with what you don’t get from the lack of sun? I’m sorry that you don’t get more sun…hope you do soon!! Looks like your kiddos had a great time!!!
