Full, packed weekend, some fun, some unexpected, some happy, some scary, and some relaxing…..it was a fun filled time spent with Sister Jenay’s family, Mom and dad, and friends.
The kids and I got to Sister’s house on Friday late night. Got up early to go on a fabulous walk with Niece Lashae, Ma, and Jenay. Then we hussled back to the house to prepare for the wedding shower Charsie (maide of honor and sister to Lashae)was putting on! Just as we were in the heat of finishing breakfast for the troops and arranging furniture for the people, Jenay heard this terror scream, I didn’t think too much of it, boys, they are noisy! Soon after, here comes Uncle Charlie bringing Corvan in, taking his shoe off to see that we needed to take a trip into the ER! Mother of the bride hops in the car with me…..”Uhhhhh, don’t you have a party to put on?” She says, “I have to go with you!” So, off we go to the hospital! My seat was as far back as I could get it so that Corvan could put his bloody black toe in the air as it sat on the top of my seat, Jenay was holding his hand up high because his finger is smashed also, along with holding Corvan’s jacket in front for Corvan to throw up in because he was in so much pain! There was groans of tears and groans of prayer up to our Lord as Jenay and I went before Him the whole way there! There is nothing like the power of the name of Jesus is there? That is all we needed was His name!
Corvan was riding 4 wheelers with the kids and not familiar enough to his surroundings and no brakes smashed his toe and finger right into a post.
X-rays show no break, I will confirm that with my doc today….had 8 stitches put in, in the bottom of his middle toe (pretty much tore off the padding of the bottom of his toe) the worst of this is he was in SO MUCH PAIN for WAY TO LONG!!!Auntie and Momma Bear started to come out in us at that ER when they are hummmmhawwwwwin’ around as to what to do with him. GIVE THE KID SOMETHING FOR THE PAIN!!! Finally after hours of hearing him moan and cry they gave him something to calm him down. I was a little frantic to say the least. Why do ER’s move so slow isn’t it a place of EMERGENCY?
Lashae came to pick Jenay up right before people began to arrive at the house for a PAR-TAY! I was SOOOOOOOOOOO glad she was there with me. 8th grade Charsie and Brayden prepared the WHOLE thing together and did a fabulous job, they are such a good team. Mom put my salad together, thank you Momma for that! Charles gets Uncle of the year for he took all my kids and his kids for a fabulous time while we had fun with Lashae at her shower. I got there an hour late, but rather late than never right? Corvan was wore out and took a good snooze as we were all busy doing our thing.
My dad is doing well, we will find out more today what they will do with him. But when I saw him he looked good and seemed good. The two attempts to put a stent in failed so they wanted him to go home to rest his heart after being probed and prodded on for such a long period of time while trying to put the stents in. They are monitoring him with meds to make sure he is safe with his heart right now. He’s under good care and I am grateful. Dad’s spirits were high.
The next day was church, and the kids trailing Corvan around to this and that, (so stinkin’ cute) Chars and Brayden riding horses, the girl’s putting on a little dance for MiMi, Auntie and the rest, Esther was getting her African groove on, showing those sisters of hers how to move that body!
And this is what we all felt like but the babies of the house looked like at the end of the day. They were “ZASTED” as Jordan would say when he is explaining how “exhausted” he is.
We left the house at 4 this morning to get Layton to school and heading off to take Corvan to our doc to make sure all is well with our doctors standards that I trust.
I am so thankful, peaceful, and happy, Jesus was in the midst of it all, all weekend!
