I had a great day today with my Brayden. This kid works hard and he also plays hard and we worked hard to play today!
We dropped the kids off at Bona’s house and took the horses out on the trail. We had so much fun….I am always paranoid we are going to get lost, Brayden brought his trusty compass ‘just in case’. I have not a very good sense of direction and Brayden, it just comes natural. So, he told me at all times where we were but I, again, paranoid me, had him get that compass out (that I cannot read) and he was always right on.
For years now, since having babies I haven’t gone OUT much. Riding here in the field and mostly giving the kids lessons and then by the time it was my turn it was short and sweet.
I had a bit of that, freedom thing today, like I use to ALL the time when Jim and I were first married. I would get on my horse after work with shorts, boots, helmet on and run up across the road by myself and ride for miles and miles. NO FEAR, just go, go, go…..then the kids came and of course it became about them and their needs, fear settled in a lot more, and just less time. Not a bad thing just different. Today, riding with Brayden, it was relaxing and free. We enjoyed each others company and loved just riding and spending time with the horses outside of the field.
I look forward to the next time for sure!
