This summer is scootin’ right by, and I’m trying not to panic but I think husband is feeling my, let’s just say….PANIC!
On Saturday I began looking at the calendar and realized, THIS was the last weekend that we had not a heavy schedule. Have I played enough with the kids? Am I going to go into the fall regretting my ‘lack of’ because I needed to get the house clean, mow the lawn, build fence, clean the barn, do laundry, on and on it goes!
So, I wake up Sunday morning a wreck!I looked at the forecast and it was suppose to RAIN on Monday. So frustrating!I was back in the salon on Tuesday so THIS WAS IT! Jim, suggested (I’m not sure if it was to get me away from him because of my emotional state) but whatever the case was he suggested we go over the mountain where we are guaranteed some sun and go play for the day. So, in a matter of a couple of hours me in the kids headed out for and evening and day of fun in the sun!
The kids played in the pool at the motel, we walked around town and the next day I got up really early and went for a good 5 mile run. The kids got up and we went on a 16 mile bike ride on the Columbia River. It was awesome, the kids did great, we had a blast. We did have one mishap, in the beginning of our bike ride that scared me and the kids close to death. Jordan was going down a pretty strong downhill grade, going his usually speed, FAST, and as there was a corner he slammed on his breaks and his bike and him flew right into a very strong moving creek that was headed right for the river. Praise the Lord he was committed to staying on his bike so he was basically stuck under the bike in the water. Drenched and a little on the scared side, I took all of his clothes off as I was thanking our dear Lord that He put a stop to his going any further. I rung out his clothes real good, and placed his very wet helmet back on his head. Jordan said in his prayers last night, “thank you Jesus that my mom makes me wear my helmet!”
After that, a great ride, and it was warm enough by the time we got back Jordan was dry again minus his shoes.
Headed home after playing at the river for the day, had a great time.
I am feeling a little more settled and not quite so paniced.
Didn’t even take a picture, not a one!
