A week and my new ‘teen’

Notes coming from this Momma this past week. Well, I made it thru the first week of full on school with all in school all week long. How was it? I must say, it is and has been different and new but I really think I am going to enjoy it. The Lord has kept me sooooo busy, it’s been one thing after another. I’ve noticed, I think the thing I like the very most is that when I begin a project whether it’s making a meal or doing the laundry I am able to completely focus on the subject at hand. I didn’t know that I could do a full on meal in 30 minutes, or get the laundry DONE from start to finish in one day! When those kids get dropped off from school I can’t wait to see their face and hear about their day.

Layton’s last day of hunting was this weekend and he didn’t have any luck darnit anyway, I am needing some meat in that freezer. I kept teasing him and telling him, “he needed to provide for the family!”

Corvan had his second game this week into the rain we go! Of course as I was grumbling, Brayden was building Corvan up with, “there is nothing better than playing in the rain, you get muddy, it’s messy and makes it FUN!” (grateful for his input, I don’t think I could even muster up a tell like that if I wanted to!)

Brayden also had his first game this week. Brayden is a 7th grader so those 8th graders get first on that field, Brayden isn’t use to being on the side lines so it challenges him in a whole new way.

The biggest thing in our world this week was that I now have two TEENAGERS in the household. Brayden turned the big 1-3! Can I just say again, I JUST LOVE THIS KID! He is going to have some friends over next weekend for a bmx jumping fun in our field, but I asked him what it was that he wanted to do on the day of his birthday and he said, “Well, first, Corvan has a game in the morning right?” So, there was no doubt that was first on the list. I asked him if he wanted to go out for lunch so where special, his pick, and I sware he picked the spot because it’s MY FAVORITE! So, to Farrelli’s we went…..then he wanted to try the mustangs of Poppa’s out. We didn’t go anywhere with them, we wanted to ride in the field and give them and us a chance to get to know one another first. We had a great time doing that! Then, he wanted to go mountain biking Sunday morning so he suggested we go to church on Saturday night. We surprised him after church and headed to Cold Stone, yu-um! I felt like it was my birthday. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAY! Then we came home after church and watched ‘Soul Surfer’. Had a great day, enjoyed every minute of it and thanked him for making MY day as much as he made it 13 years ago when he entered into this world.

So, this is the jist of the week, and look forward to more this next week. I am so grateful! I feel a little overwhelmed this morning with the Lord and how He sees  fit to bless.

Casey Martinez - Happy 13th’ to your kiddo and funny that the person above mentioned your kids names because I was going to say the same thing…you chose such cool names for your boys!! hehe. I love what you said about being able to finish what you start because you can actually focus on it now and even get it done faster because you are foccused. Craig - Today is the first day in weeks I can read any other blog than Sara’s. I read Ann once, but it was about Sara. I’m very pensive now, but no tears for the first time since I read the words, “the journey is coming to an end” . I’m so sorry for being absent from here Marlece. And now that I’m here I’m reminded by your whirlwind week, your flurry of love, how life goes on, even though some of us leave this earth. The joy you have of your boys, of your family, the frenzy that is your life of love. I heart that Marlece, and I’m grateful for the glimpses you give. You love well. God bless and keep you and each and every one of yours.
