It’s a war zone around here!

Oh my goodness, I say that with a big breath! Even in a storm the Lord brings blessings. And today? I mean this literally. We had our beautiful snow and it turned into raining ice which made our beautiful trees that I love so much around here break off and create an absolute WAR ZONE around here! The blessing? When so many millions of people around us have no electricity we have electricity. We have taken in a family whom we love and have no power in their home, and husband who is deployed, that has been lots of fun!

Yesterday morning, I went out to feed the horses and it sounded like thunder. The BOOM, CRACK, oh it was scary. The branches were just breaking off everywhere. We had a huge branch hit our house and put a big branch right thru the roof. It began leaking inside downstairs and upstairs. Jim (who is feeling a bit helpless being in sunny Palm Springs working) called our trusty go to friend to help us out. He was brave and put something over the hole on the roof so that it was protected until we can get it fixed correctly. So grateful for friend who help in time of need.

I go outside and feel so much sadness, I love our big madrona trees, our huge old oak tree, they are all standing but bear with no branches. Nobody is hurt the animals are ok. Our big beautiful tree by our barn blocked the entrance to the horses stalls so that was the first line of duty to get that cleaned up so the horses had a place to get out of the wet. It is going to take quite some time to clean our little farm up.

Again, thank you Jesus for the ELECTRICITY!

Our roof damage. A 20 inch in diameter branch went into our roof.

Our chicken coop….

Forry looking at me with bravery as he thinks about getting on that scary icy roof!

Our friends sharing our home right now!

Oh, look at the work this is going to create?
