Oh Summer has finally arrived here with beautiful sun! This week, this particular day….
~I got up and read a little ‘Jesus Calling’ first words, “WORSHIP ME!” Ok Lord this is where I intend to start and this is where I intend to finish the day.
~Go feed those steers, and sheep, dogs, horses….I love the morning and getting to do this. It makes me happy! (the boys get it from here on out for the day), but this is where I like to be early in the morn, right here!
This is the sheep feeders Brayden built, this is suppose to create muscle even as they eat. Maybe he should make a feeder like this for me?
Ok, this may mean nothing to you, but this is the amount of grain for one feeding for ONE steer at the moment. They are putting away the goods, I must say!
Brayden and I got the biggest laugh out of this picture. Brayden says, “look at her ears they look like Pom Poms”….hahhaaa!
~Go for a run, oh it feels good, on a summer day!
~Kids have VBS this week, oh what fun!
~Brayden has football camp!
~ Come home to the salon and do a few hours of hair before picking up the kiddoes!
~ And laundry in between all of that…oh my gosh, does anybody else have MASSIVE laundry in the summer like I do? It is almost unbearable, “Jenay, HELP!” (she loves laundry, go figure…..)
~ Lots of barbecuing right now. I think I really have the hamburger thing down really well this year. I learned a few new things. Probably something everyone would say, “duh!” too. Here is my new tip….when forming the hamburger patty make it more thin in the middle and thicker around the edges, this way, that dome effect doesn’t happen and they cook real even. Are you laughing?
~ Then it’s working these animals, preparing for fair, Brayden has a real booger AGAIN this year. So, challenging, it is!
This is me, trying to show this guy a thing or two, he is a PILL!
Kids working their sheep!
Layton feeling quite confident, with his laid back steer.
Brayden, very in control. Good job Pook!
~And then I get a little mowing in while the kids finish their day with a little more swimming!
Ok, this is so funny, the first time I took this ‘ole piece of machinery out of the barn for it’s first use of the season (after I put a new blade on it of course and changed the oil), my neighbor saw me come out of the shed with it and started yelling with his fingers in his ears…”NO,NO, NOOOOO!” Why what is the problem? This sucker has seen ALOT of blades of grass and it lets you know it by how obnoxiously loud it is, the neighbors hate me for it! But it still works!! I’d rather spend money on something else if this still cuts the grass….any bets on how much longer it might last? One more year, sure of it, one more year….shhhhhh….maybe longer?
Rose, isn’t it beautiful?
Check Jor out, he’s always ‘getting air!’
Full summer day, FULL! Don’t you just love after the day is finally over in the summer, you get those kiddoes in the bath, they are smellin’ good, you read them a book and they are dead to the world until morn. Good day!
