Fair time! It was a successful week….
A little recap
The morning begins at six in the morning, “RISE AND SHINE!” so that we can go clean stalls by 6:30!
Not just a stylist in the salon, no siree, Momma gets her game on with a big blow dryer for making the steer look smooth and full in that ring for the judge.
Boys working at fitting the steer together. A little gel and little hairspray and he’ll be good to go!
Layton in his FFA jacket showing his steer well. Layton ended well, he got himself a 1st place in his showmanship, he had some tough competition and did great!
Corvan is showing that lamb with some focus! The judge is checking him out. I got the biggest kick out of him showing. He was trying so hard to be a BIG kid out there but he was sooooo tired from the early mornings and late nights he was having a hard time trying not to yawn. So cute! He did really good…..
Brayden intense showing got him a third place in showmanship.
Poppa and Jim assessing the boys in how they are doing!
Brayden came away with GRAND CHAMPION SHOWMAN!!!! He worked hard, we were all so shocked because of his crazy steer. I think his steer got ‘scared straight’ at the fair because he behaved and acted like a champ in that ring! All that hard work of dealing with him this season so paid off, I was so glad for him! Showing off his trophy/plaque.
I am so happy for this kid!
You know, fair is always a ‘pain in my rear’ but in the end it is always really worth it. It really is a team effort for his 4-H group, the parents, and the families to all work together to get thru the week. We are finished, yahhhhhh!
