Summer, it’s been a great time spent with the kiddoes this year.
We have not done alot of anything but be together. We took a little trip and we played hard!
Lots of hours on bikes!
Jor, catching some air…..again!
We were in some of the most beautiful country God ever made I am sure of it. Hood River, OR. The river, the orchards, the rolling hills…..
Playing in the river!
Jim had to work, we were bummed, he so would have enjoyed this place.
I’m grateful that he is a man who works hard and is happy to see us go have fun. I’m blessed that way, don’t you think?
Layton was holding the fort down here at home and working too. Two of my boys gone…..but having Layton graduated now and getting on with his little life and feeling more responsibility to that makes me remember it’s such a short time and I need to get in as much as I can with the kids.
splashing, so much fun!
Have not tented it for years. But, I actually really enjoyed it.
The favorite things I got to do during our trip:
Got up super early and went for a run each day. SO peaceful, although it was straight up hill and then straight down coming back. It was a work out!
Read my bible right down by the river!
Watching the kids with such enthusiasm with EVERYTHING, can’t get enough!
Reading a book that is opening my eyes to some things I have never seen before. ‘Wild at Heart’ author John Eldridge.
He shares in there that adventure is what the Lord placed in a boys DNA as boys. It’s a must, it’s a need, a want, a desire. I also am learning how important that father to son role is in their life. It’s a must as well. It’s made me think in a whole different light about our MEN and where I fit in as a woman/mother in their life.
So, this was the biggies of fun for me. I did get to window shop a little and I enjoy that as well.
