Pumpkin Bread

Oh this is my Momma’s recipe and it is soooooo yummy and super easy! She got the recipe way back when because it calls for margarine. Hello, who uses margarine? So, yes, it is changed up a bit, aren’t you happy?

Don’t you just love pumpkin in the fall?

Pumpkin Bread

1 cup softened butter (2 cubes)

2 2/3 sugar

4 eggs

1 tsp soda

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp allspice

2 cups of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)

3 cups of flour

1 cup of chopped walnuts (if you choose)

350 degrees

4 ounces cream cheese

1 cup butter softened

1/4 cup nuts

1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar (or more, or less, taste it)

Add together the wet ingredients as in butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla and mix together

Then to the mixer add the dry ingredients as in all the spices and flour

Add the pumpkin to all and mix together. Add nuts if you want nuts.

Place in 2 loaf plans that have been sprayed with oil.

In the oven they go at 350 degrees for 90 minutes (or until toothpick comes out clean in the middle of loaf)

The frosting you just add all ingredients together and smother on top of the bread. (I personally don’t add nuts to the bread its self but I put nuts in the frosting.

So dang good, a great gift too!
