I left my camera at my mother inlaws and as she said when I went to get it this morning, “you act as if your right arm was detached from your body!” I KNOW, I KNOW!!! Thank you Jesus for my camera.
A little recap of Christmas!
This year, was unique, sweet, and peaceful.
My parents spent their first Christmas here, with us, for the first time. It was an honor and a privilege to have them apart. I got to show them that some of their traditions that I grew up with still came into play here in our home and they got to see and be apart of some of our traditions, new to them, as well.
Things we did:
Candle light service, I love candle light service the mostest, yes the very mostest
Had dad pray over the meal, yes, this Lasher family got to experience a Holy Spirit prayer that only the Holy Spirit can deliver thru dad.
Had friends and family over for clam chowder. Had all sit at our table, passed down by my parents, from generations before us.
Got to sing Happy birthday to Jesus and blow out candles in honor of His birth.
Kids got to open a gift.
We stayed up until one, yes, I said ONE, that is ONE in the morning, Marlece does not do this. We, including myself, were shocked!
Gifts for all, so blessed!
I just had to add this, Jordan got one present under the tree. And, it was SOCKS, everything a kid dreams of right? He didn’t say anything he took the socks out of the bag place them all out on the floor in two’s folded them up and sat there. Next thing you know…..he is disappeared to this spot. He wasn’t going to say anything, he needed a moment to himself but then I came over to tease a little (just a little), and then……
I pointed him to his little seven year old dream…… a BIKE!
We hung at home, made sticky buns,( OH my gosh TO DIE FOR), omelets, and didn’t do too much the rest of the day. Kids went outside at one point to load Poppa up with some firewood to take home and Jordan riding around on his new wheels.
The kids had been waiting along time to show MeMe the movie ‘Ligttle Rascals’ knowing she would get a kick out of it, and she did! The kids have the lines memorized and she got a kick out of that too.
Then late afternoon headed off to Bona’s house to finish off Christmas day with her prime rib dinner.
This was a gift to Bona, from niece Amanda…..the apron, the ‘colorful’ apron.
The boys, with MeMe and Poppa.
Mom and me!
How I felt about today!
