I’m star struck by my cousin

The boys and I got the privilege of going to the production called ‘The Thorn’. It’s the story of Easter. It was soooooo good. The music was fantastic, the whole thing was just amazing. Some parts as much as it the truth was hard to watch. When Satan came on the scene Corvan placed his head in his lap and didn’t come up until it was over. It was the real deal and spot on and it certainly pulled at me with big tears in parts of it. The whole production was just fantastic. They also support Compassion and we gained ourselves a little girl named Sheila from Cambodia to help support and pray for,   Jordan’s pick. ( we need a girl in the family besides me and Ruby)

All that aside the best part of the evening was to get to see my cousin Rick in action. He is the president of Illuminate Production Services and Lighting Designer. I saw him at the beginning of the show and we also got to see Caleb his son. What a fantastic moment. Even though it has been years since I have seen Rick after seeing the work that he does I don’t know if it just comes with being family or what but I took on this sense of pride in the production knowing it was Rick back there making it all ‘appear’ as amazing as it was. I seriously was in awe.

Afterwards Rick and Caleb took us back stage to see what goes all on back there. The boys got to hold and touch dried ice and see how it makes the smoke, we got to see how the angels fly on pullies, where Rick built the stage and cut out a spot for the cross to go up. We got to see and touch the cross, and Jordan was enthralled with how it was that they made Jesus look bloody and what they did to look like that.

It was a blast but again the best part of just getting to see him and the work that he does. I am in serious star struck mode with my cousin. Don’t I even look like it in this picture? ha!

Great time, thanks Rick! I will never let that much time go by again before I see you. That is a promise!
