  • At My Table

This is where my heart my table feeding people. Not only does cooking bring out the artsy in me again for I love to try new things, it also gives me pleasure to have many at my table. The Lord blessed me with a table that has been passed down from many generations and I know that many have sat at it before my time to fellowship together. I want to continue that heritage in my home. The Lord gave me the gifting of hospitality and I have a huge desire to please Him in this area. So enjoy a recipe or two when you go to "At my table"

  • In My Chair

My salon is a place that I can create. I love to see transformation and usually not just in a look, but the way someone might feel. It is a place where I get the privilege of having one on one with someone. I consider it my ministry. I always feel an incredible sense of blessing when someone chooses to sit in my chair and share a little of themselves while I get to use my artistic ability. I like to share some of my work and time spent when you go to "In my chair" at Tame Your Mane Hair Salon.

the things they say…….

Today we were in the car coming home from picking Brayden up from school. Brayden was sitting in the front of the car while Jordan sits right behind him. Brayden rolled down the window to get some air and Jordan is back in the back yelling, “ROLL UP THAT WINDOW IT BLONDES ME, your blonding me!” Brayden looks over at me and we started busting a gut. Brayden says, “I think you’re already ‘blonde’.

Jenay - Oh that kid just cracks me UP!!!! Brayden, no more blonding your brother.

My fish………….

My little fish, my favorite half an hour of the day on Tuesday mornings. I get the biggest kick every week out of this moment of each week. The parents look at me as if I have totally lost my mind when I can not hold it in and am giggling, and having my own little party watching Jordan at swim lessons each week. Jordan gets his name said ALOT, “Jordan, eyes on me!, Jordan, wait your turn!” on and on……….I know I am bias but I also know that it is due to sheer excitement of being in that water! The first time Jordan had a lesson Miss Holly held him and all he could do was 360’s over and over in the water. He was a motor all in itself. HILARIOUS! He saw the rings come out at the end of the class today and was so excited he jumped up on the platform and yelled, “SHE DID IT MOM!” He couldn’t wait to dive to the bottom of that pool and grab those things. I gave him a great big smile with a HUGE thumbs up! I am laughing so hard right now I can barely type. It makes for a joyous moment of my day there is no doubt about that!

Leanne - Go, Marlece, go! I’m proud of you…I remember a day when the word “computer” left you shaking in your barn boots…now you are a blogger! Welcome, my friend! 🙂

taco lasagna

This menu I am putting out there today is what I made for my family this week. It is in light of Jenay taking care of Sha’s kiddoes while she is in Uganda retrieving Isaiah and bringing him home. This dish is loved by all, easy, and feeds alot. We know Jenay could use that right now! Have fun Jenay feeding those hungry bellies!!
12 corn tortillas
1 can black beans (drained)
1 can refried beans
1 can tomato sauce
2 tbls taco seasoning
1 container of fresh salsa
shredded cheese
sour cream (if you please)
1lb ground beef cooked
1/2 cup brown sugar
Place in a 9’13” greased pan 6 tortillas spread
out. In a big bowl combine all ingredients
except the cheese. Once combined spred 1/2 of
mixture on top of tortillas then spread cheese
over the top of that. Then layer again. Place in
350 degree over for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
Then throw a big dollip of sour cream on the top
just top it off with perfection!
So easy and so good, enjoy!

Leanne - YUMMY!!! I will make this over the weekend. It’s a theme: tonight: Taco Soup, Saturday: Taco lasagna!

Go lightning, go Brayden!

Go lightning! At this point we have been undefeated and then today………..was a loss. Not because they didn’t give it 100%! They were 6 yards at 6 seconds at the goal, passed, and got it in the goal yet the clock ran out just a second too fast. On top of all that it was pouring down rain the whole time. POURING! Brayden had a great game with some great tackles. He was very strong today! Good game and look forward to the next! I LOVE FOOTBALL!
